DaGeek

Also known as Woody and Gandalf, DaGeek (Deep Geek) is Robert Woodside.

DaGeek is urthling, firstborn of MyDLLURTH. Woody contributes content for all URTH web sites and engineers the functionality of each. When sending email to our webmaster, DaGeek is probably the one who will respond and make appropriate adjustments.

The stirrups could have used a bit of adjustment. Woody is the first male Comanche ever let ride him without trying to pull something — like laying down and rolling or trying to run straight down the side of the mountain. Comanche doesn't like most men. He's picky.

Pool party

Pool party

We built a very nice pool! It was nearly level and deep enough to play around in. Look at lower left and lower right for perspective on the pool's construction : our small crew moved tons of dirt.

Counter-clockwise from the ladder : Celina Hall, Barb Tarvid, Oriann, Woody, and Steve Wolfe.

Painful Progress

Painful Progress

Progress was slow. Frequent breaks kept the crew's morale up.

What gave hope :
Realizing progress toward an indistinct highest and lowest elevation.

What did NOT help :
Seeing unrealized promise of mechanical assistance.

Labor of loathe

Labor of loathe

Oriann has improper shoes for digging the pool basin. That look could kill, but I doubt shoes are the cause.

Training Earth

Training Earth

Woody and Bobby Nichols set about intimidating Earth to hold the Tarvid pool. Before placing the pool, this gentle slope had to become flat. Thousands of surgical strikes were necessary; all told, a man-week of primitive manual labor was required for the 10-meter radius foundation.

Three proud people

Three proud people

Woody, Bobby, Barbara. That is: Step-dad, Bobby, and Mom.

What gets me in this picture is how tall Bobby is. Woody is 6 or 6' 1". Bobby just about towers over Woody. Looks like he's going to top out at the predicted 6' 4" or more. Both his grandfathers were that tall. Yikes! And he looks so like his dad. Well, except for the curly hair … I can't imagine where that came from. * snicker *

The kids and DaGeek

The kids and DaGeek

Woody has to be in these pictures. He's been there for these kids when no one else has been. He's the closest thing to a dad they've had.
